Religious affairs dept. active in creating national reconciliation

The Department of Religious Affairs has chosen to implement the National Council for Peace and Order’s policy on national reconciliation by launching a project to use religion as a tool to unify people.

Director-General of the Department of Religious Affairs Kritsayaphong Siri (กฤษศญพงษ์ ศิริ) said the project will see local government units work with monks and religious leaders in creating reconciliation in society.

Religious teachings and activities of all religions as well as the Sufficiency Economy concept will be adopted as guidelines for the project.

Examples of the project’s activities include the “Dharma in the Garden” lectures.

According to the director-general, religious leaders and representatives of all religions will be invited to discuss how to create reconciliation soon.
