Public Health Ministry warns of spread of 4 diseases

The Disease Control Department warns of the spread of 4 diseases as the summer heat arrives quicker than expected this year.

Disease Control Department Deputy Director-General Dr. Noppor n Chuenklin (นพพร ชื่่นกลี่น) said Thais should beware of contracting dengue fever, diphthera, measles, and influenza.

He said particular care should be placed on dengue fever which is on the rise.

Dr. Noppor said dengue fever used to be prevalent only during the rainy season but freak weather patterns have allowed it to spread all year round. He noted that last year saw dengue fever cases spreading from May to September but medical institutions have reported cases of dengue fever since January this year.
