PM: Coalition parties send lists of cabinet reshuffle

Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra (ยิ่งลักษณ์ ชินวัตร) today has announced that the coalition parties have sent their lists of candidates for next cabinet reshuffle.

Ms Yingluck revealed that she received a list from Chart Thai Pattana (ชาติไทยพัฒนา) Party adviser Banharn Silapa-archa (บรรหาร ศิลปอาชา).

The cabinet reshuffle was prompted by the death of Deputy Prime Minister and Tourism and Sports Minister Chumpol Silapa-archa (ชุมพล ศิลปอาชา) last month due to heart failure.

Ms Yingluck has confirmed that the Pheu Thai (เพื่อไทย) component of the cabinet will remain unchanged, including Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Kittirat Na Ranong (กิตติรัตน์ ณ ระนอง) due to his important role in directing the Kingdom’s economy over the past year.

The cabinet under Ms Yingluck’s administration has been reshuffled three times since the party took power in August 2011.

The prime minister, however, declined to comment whether or not she will head the cabinet’s economic team after the cabinet shake-up.
